Lyle Lopez, also known as L.A. Lopez (born June 1, 1985, in Quezon City), is a Filipino-American actor, singer, composer, performer, pastor, and inspirational speaker whose career spans over 25 years in the entertainment industry. L.A. Lopez was “discovered” by the comedy legend Dolphy Quizon through the talent search That’s My Boy. He began his career as a child actor with a role in John en Marsha (1991), and simultaneously launched his first album under Ivory Records, Bulinggit Rap L.A. Lopez, which opened the door to an extensive discography.
Early in his career, he also hosted the ABS-CBN variety children’s show Eh Kasi Bata, and contributed to the educational program Awit, Titik, Bilang, ATBP, earning multiple Awit Awards both as a solo performer and as part of a group. His early work laid the foundation for a multi-faceted career, spanning film, television, voice work, and stage performances, including Broadway-style revues and concerts in the Philippines and the United States.
After a period away from the spotlight, L.A. Lopez made a strong comeback in 2002 with the single “Yakap”, which topped Philippine Billboard charts and radio countdowns. He has continued to collaborate with industry veterans both in the Philippines and abroad, releasing hits such as “Ikaw Pa Rin” and his original composition “I See You.”
A born-again Christian, L.A. serves as senior pastor and founder of Practical Christianity under Burst Into Songs of Praise International, where he shares broadcast sermons each Sunday through the church website and social media platforms. He also established Jzone Pinoy, the Tagalog wing of Christ Commission Fellowship’s youth ministry, Jzone, fostering spiritual growth and leadership among young people.
L.A. Lopez is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Performance and Production Design at the Florida School of the Arts under a Presidential Scholarship, honing both his technical skills and creative vision for theatre, film, and music production. His academic pursuit complements his career-long dedication to artistry, enabling him to merge creative direction with practical execution.
In 2017 and 2018, he released two albums: Love Never Fails, a Christian album that garnered popularity in the U.S., Philippines, and online music platforms; and Ikaw Pa Rin, under Star Music Philippines, which featured songs like “Ikaw Pa Rin,” “I See You,” “Keep Playing the Game,” and “Ikaw Ang Pinangarap.” The album has accumulated over 1.2 million Spotify streams, topped Apple Music charts, and gained substantial views on YouTube. His single “Change My Heart, Oh God” has reached 741,000 cumulative streams, demonstrating his ability to connect deeply with listeners. He is currently working on new music slated for release in Fall 2025.
Beyond music, Lyle Lopez has embraced a multidisciplinary creative journey as a production manager, director, film scorer, and producer. His experiences in theatre, film, and music production have deepened his passion for collaboration, recognizing that meaningful art emerges when diverse talents and perspectives come together.
